Of course there is a perfectly logical explanation for Archie in a wedding gown being a blushing bride at a wedding with some rather puzzled groom beside him.
Y'see Betty had agreed to act as a proxy bride for a soldier friend who had planned a wedding but ended up being assigned overseas before the date.
The day before the wedding, Archie and Betty go for a walk in the woods and thanks to Archie insisting on going rock climbing, Betty sprains her ankle and is told by her doctor to stay off her feet for the next few days.
Wouldn't you know, EVERY female friend of hers is busy or out of town that weekend.
Right on cue, enter Archie who is so sorry for getting Betty hurt that he'd do anything to make it up to her, repeat, ANYTHING!

And so we end on this scene.
Geez Betty could have at least put a wig and makeup on him so it'd look a little less weird.

Wait, Betty and Archie wear the same size dress?
