When the corsetier pointed out the straps could be removed if his Boy bride gown displayed his shoulders, he responded,

"Mother will never let me choose a gown that wantonly displays my bosom.

I gracefully adopt.
I've tried to wear bold red lipstick, and bright nail polish, but she wants her son to present himself daintily, girlishly and modestly.
I do feel ever so wonderfully womanish in this undergarment; mother will be pleased.
